Nick initially thatched our property 30 years ago. He has just returned to thatch the front, ridge and repair the rear. The results are amazing and we couldn’t recommend him highly enough.

"I have used Nick’s services twice. The first, in 2003 soon after moving into my 17th century cottage, to provide a new ridge, and repair damaged areas around dormer windows, and I was impressed at that time with his craftsmanship. Ten years later the ridge and repairs were, of course, still in very good condition, but other parts of the roof were becoming quite worn, and I had no hesitation in choosing Nick to install a complete new thatch. As expected, Nick did an excellent job. He is punctual, reliable; extremely hardworking (he carried on through the worst that the weather could throw at us that winter). I observed his meticulous attention to detail, and appreciated the cleaning and tidying he did before leaving each evening. I am delighted with the finished roof which has attracted many admiring comments, and several people have asked for details of the thatcher I used. I have no hesitation in recommending Nick, as I know the quality of his workmanship, and his integrity and reliability. "In November 2012, Nick Lovell and Michael came to re-thatch the back and ridge of our listed house in Isham. The weather throughout this time was not the greatest but they worked tirelessly and happily. It was fascinating to watch as the work progressed and they were always more than happy to answer any of our ‘stupid’ questions. They cleared up at the end of each day and did a thorough tidy at the end of the job which is a feat in itself with all that straw! The work was completed on time and we are extremely happy with the results. They also felted and re-tiled a small roof for us while the scaffolding was in place.
